WOODWINDS
Prices refer to PC repair (Playable Condition). This means your instrument will play correctly when you get it back. A cosmetic cleaning is not included but may be added to ANY repair for Approx. $35 (Depending on labor required), Instruments that have been deemed a health 'hazard' will have a cleaning price increase. If this is the case, you will be contacted before any repairs begin.
ClarinetsPad replacement | $5.00 each.
Pads are replaced at $5 each up to 4 pads. If more pads need replacement, please look at our maintenance or overhaul packages. Tenon Cork Replacement | $10.00 The joints that connect together are held together by cork. We will replace these at $10 per tenon (joint) cork or $25 for all three. $30 for all three plus mouthpiece cork. Bent Key: | $5.00-$15.00 We will reset a bent key to its working position and ensure that the pad seals correctly. Screw Replacement | Approx. $10.00 Replacing a screw is based on the supplies we have in the shop. If we have a screw that works, then $10 will replace the screw. Special orders for screws will be up to $25. Lyre or Ligature screws are $5 each. Basic Maintenance Package | $45.00 With this package, we will level pads (and replace up to three), replace up to 1 tenon cork (if needed), regulate/oil the keys (unfreeze up to 1 screw), do a basic cleaning on the tone holes and inside the instrument, and play test. (all maintenance package prices include leveling keys and labor) Performer's Package | $85.00 We will perform everything in the basic package, plus replacing up to seven pads, replace up to 2 tenon corks, and add/adjust cork on keys. This service comes with a 30 day warranty, if something doesn't work (or stops working) within the 30 days, we will fix it free. (all maintenance package prices include leveling keys and labor) Pad Overhaul | $125.00-150.00 All pads are replaced and keys are adjusted for the new pads. Tenon corks are replaced if necessary. This comes with a 60 day warranty. A loaner clarinet may be available to use during this repair. Professional Overhaul | $200.00-300.00 This is for wood clarinets only. All pads and tenon corks are replaced. All springs are inspected for rust/wear/etc and replaced if needed. The wood bodies are oiled. Keys are adjusted and regulated/oiled. This service comes with a 30 day warranty. *Note, this the time for this repair varies depending on how long the body takes to absorb the wood oil. 1-4 weeks. You will be given a loaner wood clarinet at a step-up to intermediate level to use during this time. Professional+ Overhaul | $400.00+ This is for wood clarinets only. All pads and tenon corks are replaced. All springs are inspected for rust/wear/etc and replaced if found damaged. The wood bodies are oiled. Keys are cleaned, adjusted and regulated/oiled. In addition, we also adjust key heights for more precise tuning. This service comes with a 60 day warranty. (Please note: Cleaning of the keys takes approximately 1-3 weeks depending on buildup and oiling the body takes 1-4 weeks depending on hydration level of the body.) This repair takes 3-6 weeks. You will be given a temporary clarinet at the intermediate to advanced level to use while we are working on your clarinet. |

This service comes with a 30 day warranty. You will receive a loaner flute to use during this repair. Dent Removal | $10.00-$25.00 per dent This include cosmetic dents as well as mechanism issues. Price is determined by severity and difficulty of getting dent out. An accurate quote will be given before dents are fixed. Professional Overhaul | $250.00 This is for step-up/ intermediate or professional flutes only. All pads and head joint cork are replaced. All springs are inspected for rust/wear/etc and replaced if found damaged in any way. Keys are adjusted and regulated/oiled. You will receive in intermediate level flute to use during this repair. Professional+ Overhaul | $350.00 This is for professional flutes only. All pads and head joint cork are replaced. All springs are inspected for rust/wear/etc and replaced if found damaged in any way. Keys are adjusted and regulated/oiled. The bod is cleaned and polished. In addition, we also adjust key heights for more precise tuning. Regular Pads, Synthetic Pads, or Cork Pads?
We are adding to our shop weekly!
We now have the option of replacing your pads with synthetic pads or cork pads!
What's the difference?
Regular pads are the cheapest and easiest to replace. This means that it costs less and doesn't take us as long to complete.
Synthetic pads are moderate in price, these last longer than regular pads but take slightly longer to replace.
Cork pads are the most expensive but last the longest. These take a little longer to replace than synthetic pads.

Solder is what holds the instrument together. It is the material that is supposed to break if the instrument gets hit, saving the body from more damage. Each soldier point hold a brace onto the instrument to protect is from damaged.
Lapping | $25.00 each
We 'Lap' valves when they seem to 'stick.' Lapping takes a small of material off the valve casing so the pistons move frreely.
Basic Maintenance Service Package | $40.00
With this package, replace felts and water corks and clean do a basic clean of your instrument (Bath, and grease all tuning slides). Additional cost for removing stuck tuning slides.

Repair Seminars
Repair seminars are where you can learn how to effectively repair instruments to a basic level. We will come to you for these seminars. You will learn basic techniques that will keep your instruments out of the shop longer and save you money. Each seminar will have lecture-style teaching followed by hands-on learning where you will get to: replace pads or corks, adjust key heights, fix stuck screws/keys and more. We will bring instruments with us that you can repair and possibly work on your own instruments (depending on the condition) as our examples. Lastly you will learn what to look for when unseen issues arise and maintenance that will help keep your instrument out of the shop. These seminars last roughly 1-2 hours.
Seminar choices include separate flute, clarinet, saxophone, and brass courses.$250 for the day.
Single instrument courses will focus on only one instrument and it's specific issues.
Family courses are overview courses that will cover all woodwinds and briefly cover specific issues for each instrument.
After our seminars, we will look at your instrument inventory and give you estimates for free.

Director Repair Course
These courses are for directors and band staff only. This course is $500 and will take place at our shop. We will work with you on scheduling this course. You will bring in your school's woodwind instruments and we will teach you the basics of repair and maintenance by fixing (and having you fix) them. All repairs receive a 15% discount. Interesting Repairs:

Before: tarnishing on the silver plated flute. Previous user played this flute for about 10 years. They took good care of it, but they have a natural oil in their skin that tarnishes silver very quickly. This Gemeinhardt intermediate flute still plays decently, just doesn't look that great!

After: Using multiple polishing compounds and about 28 gallons of elbow-grease we have a shiny flute! We found in multiple spots that the silver had actually been eaten away by the oils and other chemicals from the skin of the previous user. Now it is clean, the pads are sealed, it plays MUCH better, and it is ready to go. Come by today and try it out!
